OpenAgriNet(OAN)

OpenAgriNet (OAN) is a farmer-centric AI collaboration that is building population-scale digital infrastructure for agriculture and livestock. It brings together authoritative institutional knowledge, trusted registries for farmer, farm, crop, and livestock identities, and advanced AI inferencing—grounded in strong privacy and consent frameworks—to deliver personalized, contextual advisory services at national scale. OAN is designed to be voice-first and device-agnostic, enabling inclusive and equitable access for farmers across smartphones, basic devices, and simple voice-based calling channels. Core use cases include personalized crop and livestock advisory, climate- and risk-aware decision support, unified access to government schemes, and real-time market and price intelligence for farmers.

OAN is not the work of any single institution, but a growing ecosystem of partners coming together to build a global digital public good for agriculture. It is being shaped through collaboration across leading academic institutions, mission-driven supporters, frontier AI and technology leaders, and sovereign AI efforts, alongside governments and implementers. Over the last year, this ecosystem has enabled major deployments including Mahavistaar in India, reaching 400,000+ farmers and serving 2 million+ advisory queries; Bharat Vistaar under the National Digital Agriculture Mission with Union Budget-backed sponsorship; and a national launch in Ethiopia—demonstrating OAN’s ability to operate as a scalable backbone for farmer advisory, scheme delivery, and AI-powered public extension systems globally.

Purpose of this document This documents is meant to provide all the necessary technical information that help all the participants who wants to build and integrate their application with the OAN Network.

OAN Network is a Beckn protocol based network which allows transaction between Network Participants.

Focus

OAN network aims to integrate the services like Schemes, Financial services, Market Access, Weather system, Soil health system with network and hence to all the participants.
